Abstrak

Currently, teachers are required to have the ability to integrate ICT in learning to meet the challenges of learning in the 21st century. One effort to improve teachers' ICT competency is by implementing digital literacy learning in universities that produce prospective teacher graduates. This study aims to determine the effect of digital literacy learning on the ICT competency of prospective teacher students. The study used a quantitative approach in the form of a survey of students of the Education Study Program as prospective teachers and then conducted interviews for the data triangulation process. The research subjects were prospective teacher students at Semarang State University. The survey results showed that both groups of respondents had good ICT competency. However, after further examination of the triangulation data from the ICT competency interview results, prospective teachers who had received digital literacy learning were superior in the aspects of understanding ICT in education, organization and administration, and professional teacher learning. The influence of digital learning on prospective teacher ICT competency in these three aspects is a recommendation for the implementation of digital literacy learning in universities that produce prospective teachers.
