Converting to Islam is a complex spiritual and existential process, especially for converts, who face not only a change of faith but also social, cultural, and legal transformations. This study aims to review the systematics of Islamic law as it relates to converts and propose a reconstruction more adaptive to their actual conditions. Using a juridical-normative approach and qualitative analysis methods, this study explores sharia provisions related to the rights and obligations of converts, both in aspects of worship, transactions, and legal protection. The results show that although Islamic law has a strong normative foundation in honoring and protecting converts, its implementation often lacks contextualization to contemporary challenges. Therefore, an integrative, empathetic, and contextual reconstruction of Islamic law is needed—one that relies not only on normative texts but also considers the sociological and psychological realities of converts. Through this approach, Islamic law can appear more progressive and solution-oriented in providing guaranteed protection, justice, and ongoing support for converts.
